3 May 2011: Oakes College

A pair of coastal live oaks soak up the May morning light.
Today I photographed these bay trees around 8:00 at UCSC.  This is a panoramic composite blending together a series of shots taken with a tripod.  Sometimes the space of the forest is better represented by distortions and seemingly impossible angles.  It is hard to imagine how humans after spending so much time in forests around the world would end up living in urban spaces dominated by geometry.

The oaks at Oakes College are truly amazing, but these bays I found are not inconsiderable, either.
